Story:
Two Friendly Sisters (Luke 10: 38-42) Introduce
by talking about the importance of food and drink, but also how important
it is to listen and have time for our friends. |
|
|
Mary
and Martha were sisters. One day Jesus and his friends went to their
house. “Come
and have a meal with us” said Martha Martha
liked cooking. She bustled around, cutting vegetables, making bread and
cooking a delicious meal. Martha wanted everything to be just right for
Jesus. Mary
sat down with Jesus and his friends. She just wanted to listen to
everything Jesus was saying. Martha
got crosser and crosser. “Jesus” she grumbled, “do you think it is
fair that I am doing all the hard work while Mary is sitting doing
nothing? Tell her to come and help me.” “Martha”
answered Jesus, kindly, “don’t get so worries and upset. Of course I
am pleased you are cooking a special meal for us. But Mary knows that I
enjoy spending time with my friends as well. Leave your work for a while.
Come and sit down with us and talk to me instead”. |
