Instructions:
Cut a piece of yarn to one and a half or two feet long. Tie a pencil or any
other object about the same size on one end of the yarn. String the cereal onto
the yarn. Remove the pencil and tie both ends of the yarn together. Hang
outside!

Pine

Instructions:
Tie or twist the yarn or wire onto the pine cone for the hanger. Mix 1 part
peanut butter to one part margarine. Spread the peanut butter and margarine
mixture onto the pine cone. Pour some bird seed onto a plate or shallow dish and
roll the pine cone in it. Place the seed-covered pine cones in the freezer for
about an hour or until it is set. Hang it outside!

Instructions:
Bend the egg carton cups towards each other, rim to rim (this will make an oval
shape). Glue or staple them together to form the bird's body. Use the paper to
make feet, beak, and other body parts you desire. You can add real feathers,
beads for eyes, or use your imagination with other misc. supplies!

Instructions:
Colour the paper plates. Fold one paper plate in half. Cut about a 4 inch slit
in the centre-top of each side to hold wings; cut about a 1 inch slit in the top
back to hold tail. Cut second plate in half. Trim one of the halves by 1 inch on
the straight edge. Slip into the slit to make the wings. Trim the other half by
1 inch and then cut in half to form a triangle for the tail. Slip it into the
tail slot. Cut a small triangle from paper for the beak. Make eyes.

Catch

teams have to ‘catch ‘ as many as they can by picking them up one at a time
and bringing them back to the team corner
Migration
Played
in teams. Give each person name of a bird. When leader calls out name of a bird,
that person to run to end of room round obstacle and back making noise of their
bird. If migrate is mentioned, whole team to run
Cut
out bird shapes which the Beaver Scouts can decorate as a craft as well if you
want, Lay out a target on the floor and get the Beaver Scouts into teams.

Animal
change
All
except one sit on chairs in a circle and all are given name of a bird
[swallow, sparrow, sea gull, blackbird etc]. The odd one is the hunter who
stands in the middle. (they must be given the name of a bird as well)
Leader
calls "swallows change" and all the swallows must change places, the
hunter trying to get a free chair. Repeat with another birds name. On command
"Hunters coming" everyone must change seats.
